A Friday meat post shouldn’t turn into a purity test, but online Catholic culture often makes it one. We get into why public callouts feel satisfying yet rarely help, how converts and cradle Catholics talk past each other, and what fraternal correction looks like when you actually want someone to grow. Along the way we unpack the deeper issue behind so many timeline fights: the pull to be seen as righteous instead of becoming righteous.

We also react to a clip that raises questions about flirting, boundaries, and the near occasion of sin for married public figures. Even when nothing “technically” happens, tone, context, and incentives matter, especially on camera. We share why we’ve built our own guardrails around guest choices, one-on-one dynamics, and content that can create scandal or bait curiosity.

Then we switch gears with an absurd real-life story: riding on a two million dollar pink “Barbie” speedboat that does 100 mph and attracts a crowd everywhere it docks. It’s funny, but it also surfaces something serious about wealth, status, envy, and how people judge what you buy. We close with a sobering funeral-home service story that felt liturgically and theologically confused, plus a careful note on why clear Catholic teaching around suicide and despair matters.

If you care about Catholic fasting, social media virtue signaling, marriage boundaries, and keeping your spiritual life real in a performance-driven world, hit play. Subscribe, share this with a friend who lives on the timeline, and leave a review. What’s one practice you try to keep private, even when the internet begs you to post it?

Stream Misfires And Deleted Takes

SPEAKER_03

Okay, never mind. We're not live right now. It's not because we can't start for two for two two and a half minutes.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, all right. So you gotta start over? So you gotta end this? You can't end this, because then you'll end the stream. We have to just sit here. Yep. We have to just sit here.

SPEAKER_03

No, it doesn't matter. Right, it's on now.

SPEAKER_02

It's on now. It's on now.

SPEAKER_03

Is it?

SPEAKER_02

Oh, we lied? Yeah, we lost it.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, everyone's saying we're lying. Oh, back to classic A B. Okay, hold on. Everyone like that didn't happen.

SPEAKER_02

I thought you were going to end the stream, and I was like, no, you'll have to set up a whole new stream.

SPEAKER_03

It's telling me you can't start for two up two minutes. Ah, okay.

SPEAKER_02

Everyone, we're gonna re- we're pretend like we're not gonna restart with that because we started you guys missed it. We started with the whole intro song, everything.

SPEAKER_03

Oh man. Okay, here we go, guys.

SPEAKER_00

Mira, mirror on the wall. Who is the tradest of them all?

SPEAKER_02

All right, wait. I now we have to bring that tweet up. I didn't I didn't send that tweet to you, so you have to bring that tweet up.

SPEAKER_03

It was just in the video.

SPEAKER_02

I know. Can you go back to that? Well, unless she deleted it. Did she delete it? We'll we'll do brief. No, she didn't delete it. She's a stubborn woman. There's no chance she deleted it. Okay, you understand if this is like it, you know who she reminds me of? And she's gonna hate that I say this. And I know she's gonna watch this. Um she reminds me of uh Lila Rose. No, who put out the what tweet was it? Somebody highlighted the other day. Oh, her with the her with that girl on talking about

Edgy Posting And Taking Pushback

SPEAKER_02

Father Mike, how hot he is, and like all the pushback she got from that clip, and she still didn't take the clip down. Like, there's no way Brie took that tweet down, did she? No, it's up. I just of course it's still up. You think this was my whole point. It's like you get that much pushback. Like, look, I know I'm bombastic. I know I say, I know I troll, I know I rage bait, but if I get enough pushback, especially like from people I respect, like Rob has gotten me to take several tweets down. Joshua Charles has got me to take several tweets down. Like, there are sometimes I tweet something and then they're like, eh, you kind of crossed the line there. And it's like, okay, I'm open to fraternal correction. This woman is not capable.

SPEAKER_03

I love it when you tell me to not tweet something when it's like a third as scandalous as your average tweet.

SPEAKER_02

Can I can we find that tweet that you wanted to put out? Because it's actually hilarious for locals. Like, you have to have that screenshot, right? Because you screenshot it and sent it to us. Um I wanted, I wanted to tweet. So I'm at first, I told Rob, I was like, I don't think that one's gonna go over well. And he was like, It's not even half as bad as the stuff you do. I go, you know what? Yeah, tweet it. Why didn't he's like, no, no, no, no. You want me to tweet it too bad. Molly said she deletes her tweets all the time, she'll never make money on Twitter. Um I oh yeah, here it is. All right, so Rob Rob was gonna tweet this the other day, and I told him not to, and then here's what I wanted to respond to it if he did.

SPEAKER_03

Uh let me uh how do I share this? I'm gonna stop that one. You know, like send it to Telegram or something, right?

SPEAKER_02

Here we go. All right, so Rob was going to tweet this, and he said, When did Nolan has Candace in the Odyssey? And I was gonna I was gonna quote tweet it and say, I can't believe he used the hard R. I said, like when Rob's like, you tweet stuff like that so much, like so much worse than that. I said, Yes, but like people perceive what I tweet like racist stuff as kind of like you know, I dropped the n-word, it's a little different when I drop it. It's if Rob tweets something racist, it's like you go full you want something hard R.

SPEAKER_03

I tweet that and I'm like, should I? And he and responds, it's distasteful, but have at it. I go, shut up. It's less distasteful than your average tweet.

SPEAKER_02

I was laughing as I wrote that, by the way. I was that's what's so funny about text. I was just because like you get a text, you're like, That's distasteful, but have at it. But I was really like a little distasteful, but like, and I thought it was hilarious. I just I wanted to point out how different racial tweets sound coming from you versus me, though. It's kind of funny. Uh you go all right.

SPEAKER_03

So people receive your my tweets as tongue in cheek. Your cup yours comes off just mean, like, yes, well, they are meant to be mean.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, like if I tweet something, people are like, Oh gosh, there goes Anthony again. But when Rob tweets something, he just sounds like he's in a bad mood and he just hates Candace and black people in general.

Meat On Fridays And Convert Moralizing

SPEAKER_02

All right, bring up the pre-tweet because I want to discuss this. Here it is. First off, the um the e-girl drama is hilarious. Like Taffy's in his glory when he sees e-girls going at it. He was he was chomping at the bit to fire off that little intro video he made. Uh so I bring up honey badgers first. We gotta see this.

unknown

All right.

SPEAKER_02

I had this for dinner. What did you have? Simple as that. Like that's oh shit. I had this for dinner. What did you have? And Brie. I can't decide which is worse. A Catholic account with 120. That's a lot of followers, Honey Badger. 128,000 followers brazenly posting about eating meat on Fridays, the dozens of Catholic replies celebrating it, or the fact that I can't find a single reply from a Catholic calling her out for it. We are so soft. Shut up. Oh my god, you insufferable woman. That's all I thought when I read that. I just thought you are so insufferable.

SPEAKER_03

And like, why I mean like you said, like uh where'd my camera go?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, where'd your camera go? You have to be on screen. Oh, there you go. Not that camera. Whoa, not that one. We don't want side view, Rob. What the hell? Like, this is like it was just such a pompous tweet. Can't decide which is worse. A Catholic account with 128,000 followers brazenly posting about eating meat up. First off, I look, I'll say this every so often on a Friday, you forget it's Friday. Well, plus, like you're gonna tell me you haven't forgotten it's Friday, bought a cheeseburger, and like shit, it's Friday.

SPEAKER_03

Like everyone's happens a few times, yeah. But but even then, like Brie converted into uh traditional Catholicism, right? She doesn't realize that, like the us cradles, like I I didn't know we were still supposed to abstain from meat or do another penance until 2019. Yeah, no, literally, right?

SPEAKER_02

Like, and and not for nothing, like the church doesn't tell the novus ordo like you need to abstain from meat, like they do say you need to abstain from meat or supplement it or something, but nobody's taught that.

SPEAKER_03

No, it and like your average Catholic in the pews doesn't even know they're supposed to be like you can be a Catholic that went to CCD, that went to mass every week, that did every you know, like a better Catholic than the vast majority of Catholics, and still not know that.

SPEAKER_02

So Molly said, I tweet about not eating meat on Fridays a lot, but there's a way to do it, right? Like, there's a way to do it. You can you can absolutely tell people like hey, you know, today's Friday, this is maybe bad. But the way that tweet was written, and like I don't like everybody, like uh my response was pretty awful. I forgot what I wrote because I deleted mine because I thought it was awful.

SPEAKER_03

Like it was like tasteful, and you shouldn't have done it.

SPEAKER_02

I I said to her, uh, I I quote tweeted that, and I was like, uh, what's worse eating meat on a Friday or being an attention whore or something? Like something you know, it was like more distasteful than my candice tweet. Yes, but I was also in a mood, and when I saw this, I was look, I just don't like e-girls to begin with, but also like people were like so offended that like I was saying this to Brie, and I'm like, first of all, like guys, she was a literal prostitute, like she was she was a porn star. I think she can handle like a mean tweet from me. She's a tough girl, like she's not some she's not your typical girl. Like, what she said to Honey Badger was way more vicious than what I said to her, just because of who she is and what you know what what line of work she was in. Like, I'm sure she caught a lot worse from people, and like it didn't even lead to her blocking me or anything. Like, she whatever, she's like, it's fine. Everybody thinking, like, I don't like this infighting, like, shut up, you bunch of weaklings. This is just there was a way to go about it, and I have this thing about like converts moralizing. It's something that bothers me about Cavazzos, too. Like, I love Cavazzos, but like he goes around moralizing, like, dude, you're a convert, you just came in the church and you're going around telling all the Catholics you're bad Catholics, you're bad Catholics, you're bad. Like, shut up, you don't know the world we grew up in. So I just have no patience for it. Like, um, she could have tweeted exactly what she did about not eating meat on Fridays without shaming someone. That's what it is, without shaming someone who was deliberately trying to downplay the practice. Who wasn't deliberately trying to downplay the practice, right? So I went out to dinner on my anniversary weekend um with my in-laws and on a Friday night, and I posted the receipt. And now my in-laws ordered steak on the receipt, right? And like I posted the receipt, and people were like, It's Friday, you're eating meat. It's like, no, I didn't eat meat on Friday, but I'm also not out there bragging to everybody. I don't eat meat on Fridays. Like, you don't you could it's one thing to like encourage people to not do it, it's you know, and it's another to go around saying, Well, I don't eat meat on Fridays because I am such a guy, like you don't need to do that, you know. If you do it, first off, like if you do that, you've received your reward. There is absolutely no benefit to fasting for abstaining from meat on Fridays if you go around telling everybody you abstain from meat on Fridays. It there, unless you're going around encouraging people to do the practice because you've found some spiritual benefits, but if you're going around bragging, like you are literally doing the Pharisee thing, parading your good deeds on the street corner, praying before men so that you get praise. Like, there is something to those stories, guys. Go back and read them. There's a point to them. I have a really hard time with people who go around spec detecting other people's like innocent, like mistake. It was an innocent that the girl literally just tweeted out, oh, I had this for today, like brazenly, brazenly posting about eating meat on a Friday, or the people who refused to call her out for it. It's like, shut up, leave it out.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, and and it turns out that the honey badger or whatever her name is had fasted the entirety of the day up until dinner time. What was really most egregious is that she got prosciutto from a gas station. That is really the crime there. And the fact that you're not pissed at that aunt is suspicious. Well, all right.

SPEAKER_02

So uh somebody said Brie, uh, just curious, if Brie used to be a Zionist writing vile stuff about gods, and then quietly did a 180. I I will credit her for that. Um like that means she had maybe had a conversion of thought on that situation. That's a good thing. Um, and I'm not looking to like I'm not even looking to get all about like I that's good that you failed you abstain from meat on Fridays, Brie. That's awesome. Stop telling everybody you do it. And then in my tweet, I was like, I was like, you could have just deleted the tweet, but your love of money wouldn't allow you to, hoping that she would because look, it's not that you get paid on Twitter that's bad. Like you get paid on Twitter, fine. But if you tweet something that you think is wrong, or that like people that you like and trust are telling you, hey, you should delete this and you keep it up simply for engagement. That is love of money. And that's like, well, no, this is gonna get a lot of interaction. I'm gonna make a couple bucks on this. Like, I was trying to get her to see that and say, it's not it's not worth the couple of bucks you're gonna make on the tweet, just take it down. And instead, she went, I give so much money away. It's like it's burning a hole in my pocket. All of the money I make on Twitter, I donate to a monastery, and and she goes on bragging about her good deed. This is what made me mute her all like a long time ago. I I actually blocked her a while back. I blocked her because I can't stand piety signaling. Like, there's something about the person who's like, I'm going to pray the rosary. What can I do? What what can I like telling people you're going to pray the rosary? I I find it appalling. Like, and it's like I just went to mass and I just went and I went to do that. Like, stop telling people what you're doing. Like, your spiritual life, your spiritual life is a very intimate thing between you and God, and people that go around piety signaling and telling everybody about their like if anything, I try to tell you guys about how I screw things up. Like when I went and I couldn't do my penance last week, okay. Yeah, so what happened with that?

Piety Signaling And Quiet Good Works

SPEAKER_02

So I I went back to the same parish hoping to find the same priest, the same priest was not in the confessional this week, and I went into I went into confession with an Indian priest, and I had some really intrusive thoughts. Oh, that's right. You did text me that I had some really right at what hold really like one of those.

SPEAKER_03

What did I say right before that?

SPEAKER_02

I really don't want to talk about what you said before.

SPEAKER_03

It was a jeet comment.

SPEAKER_02

Something like that.

SPEAKER_03

Was it was it as bad as you were acting like it was, though?

SPEAKER_02

I don't know. You you commented something about jeeps, and I just I was in confession with an Indian priest, just had these really intrusive thoughts. And first off, I like I oh, I was saying yeah, chasing off because of them.

SPEAKER_03

That's what it was.

SPEAKER_02

I I um I told the priest the whole scenario, and he said, Okay, uh, I'm going to give you the same penance, so you can't drink for a week.

SPEAKER_03

He should have doubled it.

SPEAKER_02

He should have, but he also gave me an additional penance. Oh, okay. So he gave me, he goes, I'm going to give you that penance again, and I'm going to give you something, and he gave me something else as well. So I'm I've no drinking for a week, which you know, I'll get through it, I'll survive. You know, it was just terrible timing the last time, it was terrible timing.

SPEAKER_03

Um, so you're gonna go back to that priest to confess your intrusive thoughts about uh Indians? I don't know because I didn't really have control over them. I'm joking, I'm joking.

SPEAKER_02

Like I didn't really have control over them, they were just like intrusive thoughts coming in into my head, and I was like, I was like, man, I felt I felt awful about it. It was just Jim.

SPEAKER_03

Jim says, Everyone make sure to send aunt your cocktails this weekend.

SPEAKER_02

Well, I'm considering it seven specific days, like I am holding to a strict, a strict observance of those seven days. So Sunday afternoon I could drink. Can't drink on Saturday. Oh man. Um now let's get

Confession, Penance, And Intrusive Thoughts

SPEAKER_02

into Knowles. Oh, Bajari, he just missed me ranting on the e-girl drama. Um the uh the yeah, I mean, we could wrap up the e-girl drama. Like, I wasn't even taking Honey Badger's side in that. I'm just like, I just I just found I I I blocked Brie a long time ago because of the piety signaling, like the constant it's annoying, bragging about how holy she is. Like, I don't know how people are not repulsed by that, but I there are some people who are like, you're so amazing, and I'm just like, this is gross. I don't know, I just find it so gross. It's like it's one thing to like encourage a spiritual practice because you found benefit in it, and it's like, hey, you know, this this thing's working for me, or whatever. But to go around telling everybody, I just did three days in a monastery praying with these nuns, and I don't know. It's like, yeah, I don't know. Stop telling everybody about your good deeds, like that. Like the more you every time you tell somebody about the good thing you did, you lost your treasure in heaven. Just keep that in mind. You you literally did it for your reward on earth, so people heap praise upon you, and you lost your reward in heaven. You're your the whole point of your good deeds is to build treasure in heaven so that when you die, those good deeds are are they they gain merit through the graces of Jesus Christ. Like now you have merit to go into. Like, and I I don't understand the the I don't understand the logic behind telling everybody you did something. I don't know. I mean, if I do it, call me out on it. Because I I think it's gross. I don't I don't like when anybody does it. Um

Knowles Clip And Flirting Boundaries

SPEAKER_02

I don't want to hear about women talking about Regular Man. I want to talk about Michael Knowles. Let's do it. All right, let's play the Knowles clip. So this actually uh people really didn't like my what I said to this.

SPEAKER_03

You did get some pushback on it, but I got a lot of pushback for saying this. Not good pushback, in my opinion.

SPEAKER_02

Let's see.

SPEAKER_01

My wife comes to me, she does Uber or whatever, you know, she's getting an Uber. When for me, I get a female driver, I say whatever. It's gonna take me longer to get to the airport, but it's fine. My wife gets a female driver. I'm not joking. She she will cancel it. No, I am stoked when I get a female Uber driver because I'm not gonna get murdered.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, you know, she's well, they have a new but you might die in a crash.

SPEAKER_02

Well, Lauren Southern is clearly intoxicated here. Like, look at her. She's like falling off. Here's here's part of the problem is that so many of the people that push back on me, they're like, they're in a professional setting, they're being they're being filmed, there's nothing inappropriate about this. Like, you guys are such incels that you can't tell when a girl is fawning over a guy. This girl is fawning over Michael Knowles here. Look at the way she's laughing. Look at look at her. She can't contain her giddiness. She is fawning over him, and she's known for doing exactly that. Like, she she's like known for like sleeping with married men. She's she's Sarah Stock before Sarah Stock. Literally, like, she is she's like the primordial Sarah Stock. Finish it out because he he even like makes fun of his wife the way she talks.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, because women are afraid of being like kidnapped or murdered or something. But like, so they have this new one where women can request female drivers. And my wife, she actually goes, she's like, Man, are they gonna do one where I can only request a male driver, please? I want to get their wife sounds like exactly. I mean, it's an amazing thing.

SPEAKER_02

People were like, people were like, he's on a podcast talking about his wife, as if 90% of affairs don't start with two people going out having a drink and discussing their spouses, and he's making fun of his wife the way she talks, which is a weird thing anyway. The whole thing is just off-putting, and Michael Knowles is known for doing this. Like, he's had Nala Ray on, and he has like the this whole married man sitting one-on-one with a woman. And I everybody's saying, Um, what's what the hell's her name? Um, what the hell's this idiot's name?

SPEAKER_03

The girl, Laura Southern.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, Lauren Southern. Everybody's saying Lauren Southern's not attractive. Sorry, and like she's attractive enough, like like, and and like uh it's not it's not that she's hot, it's not that like she's attractive enough, like she's attractive enough to wreck your home, and she's it's irrelevant what you personally think she is. Like it's it's irrelevant to my point. She's she's known for promiscuous behavior, and he's a married man flirting it up with. I'm telling you, I know what an Italian guy flirting with a girl looks like. Michael Knowles is flirting with this girl, he's rizzing her up in Gen Z language, like he's putting the charm on man. Making her laugh, telling her funny stories. Like it's something I would never do to my wife. I would never remember when I remember when Brie was like coming out and her conversion, and I was seeing her making the rounds. She was on Keith Nestor's show, and she was on all these shows. And it was before like we had officially taken the stance, like, no, no women on the show ever.

SPEAKER_03

Like, she she well, she's actually the reason we took this. We made that stance literally for this.

SPEAKER_02

So Rob was like, What do you think? Like, you know, she's telling the conversion story. I said, honestly, I don't think there's any scenario where it's appropriate for me to have a conversation with a former porn star on my show. Like, I would I said to Rob, I will never do that to my wife. My wife doesn't she doesn't, she would, she wouldn't even watch it or anything, but like, why am I talking to a former porn star? I don't care if she had a conversion, I will never do that. And this was long before Nala Ray was on Michael Knowles's show. It's just like I intuitively knew this is inappropriate. Like, I'm not gonna sit here and have a conversation with a former porn star. It's just I don't see what I don't see what can come from it other than piquing people's interest to go and try and look up her former content. Like it's just an occasion, a near occasion for sin for some people. They're going to want to go, it's like curiosity is gonna get you, and you're gonna want to go and look up her former content. It's like I I don't know. I don't see how I don't see how any of this is appropriate. I don't, I am so against like I don't, I don't, I don't, I I just I don't think men and women should be putting themselves in situations where it looks like they're chatting it up and like I don't know, man. I don't like unless my wife is there with me and we're having the conversation together, I'm not going and having some one-on-one conversation with uh a woman like that.

SPEAKER_03

It's like it's very different when we Laura Southern even have to offer nothing at all, right?

SPEAKER_02

So, like it yes, we've had Nancy Charles on. Yes, we've had Catherine from Catholic Unscripted on. Like, it's a very different thing. Like, I'm I'm talking e-girl, like this this is an e-girl, and I'm sorry, Bree Solzdad is an e-girl still to this day. She's an attention whore, like she's an attention whore. It's just what it is, and like the the problem with someone like Nala Ray or even Brie, like, yes, Brie, you no longer take your clothes off. You are still dealing with the same vice you did when you were taking your clothes off. That need is affirmation from men and affirmation, like you're still dealing with the attention, the desire for attention and affirmation. Like it's the same thing, it's just you're just doing it a different way now. You're you replace taking your clothes off with Jesus. It's it's like it's in a way, it's even more devious. Like you're still getting the same gratification you got when you were taking your clothes off, except now you put this mask of Jesus on, and you're you're getting the same praise and attention you got to people going, Oh my gosh, you're so holy. Like it's wrong. I don't care. There was there was a time might even be worse than stuff. Um that's my point, right? It might even be like it might be worse, and for the good of your soul, you should get off the internet. Like, you should really get off the internet, not to go live a life of some drastic penance, just because the very specific thing that you had to convert from, you're still dealing with, like, you still need that attention. And I say this as as an attention war, you know what I mean? Like, I say this as someone who understands this very much. It's just a lot different when somebody lived a very publicly scandalous life like that to go from that to it's not the same thing as like uh, you know, well, now I'm providing a witness, like you are very much still garnering attention because you're an attractive woman who used to be a porn star, but now you've now you follow Jesus. Like it's I don't know. I like there was a time where Brie got off the internet, and I was like, wow, I was like that now. I can now I have respect for her. But the way she's this whole debacle, especially. Like, if you put something out that's distasteful and you're getting pushback from your fellow Catholics, not Protestants, not and you're getting pushback from your fellow Catholics telling you this is important, take it down. Take the tweet down. Like, it's just it's not that hard. No, just take the tweet down. Like, do you need the engagement that much? Is it that important to you? You're clearly upsetting people, you're causing scandal on the internet. Like, take it down, it's not that deep. You guys think I'm off on this? No, no one's just no one's disagreeing with you. I think Glad Ant keeps his clothes on. Yeah, uh, I think she should just do porn. What's the point of this? That would be more honest. In some ways, yes. Like in some ways, it's more honest because you're still doing the same freaking thing, except now you it's like, man, I would really worry about like uh um idolatry there. Like, I don't know if it would be idolatry or or taking the Lord's name in vain. But it's it's to me, it's the same exact sin. It's just you're not taking like you're you're not causing others to sin the way you did when you took your clothes off. I guess that's better, right? Like when you're taking your clothes off, you're causing others to sin. But what you're doing now is very much the same personal sin that you were doing. Like it's this desperate need for affirmation and attention.

SPEAKER_03

Um yeah, she does have a husband, guys. Believe it or not.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, a husband that doesn't clearly doesn't tell her to knock it off. I he watches the show too, apparently.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, really?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, they both do. And look, I'm not I don't dislike her like as a person. Like, I don't dislike her as a person, I dislike her so a social media platform, like it's a very different thing, right? Like, we all like Kale Zeldin talks about this a lot, like our carefully curated profilicity. We all are like, I don't dislike her, I think she's probably a very good person striving for holiness. She's just dealing with this thing on social media. Like, our social media profiles are so weird because we have this very carefully curated profile that we put before the public. Like, I move around with it, I have a little bit of fun with it. I, you know, because I don't take myself too seriously. Rob's very like profilic pro Rob's profilicity is very gun-oriented, you know, it's very much like he has he has a very specific profile he puts out. We all have this profile we put out before the public, but like masquerading as this holy saint who used to be a porn star man, I don't know. It's just fan taste. I'm not a fan. Um uh what time we got? We still got a couple minutes, right? Yeah. Um what do you guys want us to talk about? I do, I do have a funny uh I I sent the clip to Rob. What's with the pink boat? Oh my god. We have to talk about that. Yeah, forget the clip I sent you. Okay, I cannot tell you how embarrassing it is being on a two

Attention As A Lingering Temptation

SPEAKER_02

million dollar pink boat. Like hold on, hold on. How expensive was that boat? A two million dollar pink boat. Okay, well, I gotta send you a picture of this thing. Hang on. I have to send it to you.

SPEAKER_03

When I when I think two million dollar boat, I think like a 60-foot yacht.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, I'm gonna send you pictures of this boat, but hang on. You guys all have to see this boat.

unknown

Hang on.

SPEAKER_02

It is obscene.

SPEAKER_04

Like, wait until I show you this thing.

SPEAKER_03

Boy, I was feeling really bad for spending a little bit of money on a used side by side too. Not anymore, man.

SPEAKER_02

Rob, you don't understand how obsessed. Okay, like I'm gonna send you a few of these because this ocean, Italians are worse with money than blacks.

SPEAKER_03

He's not Italian.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, he's German. Brother-in-law? Yes, okay. All right, so I'm sending you three pictures. Hang on, I had to like save them so that because they would have been like way back in my folder. Yeah, hang on, you guys have to see this thing, it's obscene. Oh boy, it's featured in magazines, like it's it is okay, it's a two million dollar pink boat, and like Nicki Minaj has commented on it on freaking Instagram. Like it's the Barbie boat, it's called Barbie. It says barbs on the top on the roof, right? It's um it's a uh Midnight Express. You see those motors? Those motors are like 200 grand each. They're 500R racing motors. There's five of them on there, they're like 125 grand, 150 grand. It's like a million dollars of motors. Are they each 500 horsepower? Yes, the boat does a hundred miles an hour. It's it's 43 feet long, it goes 100 miles an hour.

SPEAKER_03

What is what is the what is the purpose?

SPEAKER_02

The purpose is other than going 100 miles an hour. People well, it's it it's it there, it's a power boat, and it's meant to show off your wealth. Like that is the point of it. It's to show off that I got two million dollars to spend on a boat. But the problem with a pink two million dollar boat is that every

The Two Million Dollar Pink Boat

SPEAKER_02

single person, like you, I don't care where you are, everybody's looking. But the problem with the pink boat is that everybody's looking and going, everyone's looking and going, why the hell did they get pink? Yeah, is a flamboyant homosexual owns this? What is going on? I mean, especially by Fire Island, like gotta be gay. And and we're sitting at a restaurant, and we don't go into the restaurant to eat. He has the waiter come out and bring us our food, and we're eating on the boat, and everybody in the restaurant is just sitting there going, Why do they have a pink boat? Like, why? Why do they have a pink boat? And everybody has to come over and take pictures of you, and you're just like, I don't want to be in your stupid pictures. Please get me off the stupid boat. Like it is it is obscene, and it is yeah, it's a Milo boat. It is just embarrassing. It's not attention I would ever want. Like, I wouldn't if you gave me if you it's a two million dollar boat, and I love boats and the things fair, dude. But I tell you, you don't know what it feels like to go a hundred miles an hour on the water, dude. You are like pinned to your seat, like holy crap, we're gonna die. Like when you're doing 35 to 40, my boat does 45. When you're doing 45 on my boat, like I had Bobby out on my boat like a uh uh two weeks ago. You are cooking on at 45 on a boat, like you're like, whoa, man, we're moving. 95 on a boat, 100 on a boat. You are like if you fall off. If if you fell off the boat, you'd break your neck at 100 miles an hour, like it would be like hitting concrete, you know. Like, I mean, when you go when you go water skiing, you're water skiing at about 20 miles an hour, 18 to 20 miles an hour when you're water skiing. You might get a tuber, like a person on a tube, you might get them up to 25, 27. Yeah, you're not doing anything over that. When you're going 95 miles an hour on the water, you're just like you're strapped in holding on. You're like, please don't flip this boat, man. We're all dead. It's it's it's intense. But and then we go over to Fire Island and we dock there, and everybody's gotta come over and look you and take pictures, and you're just like, Oh my god.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, so he he he chose pink.

SPEAKER_02

He had them custom, it took him two years to himself. He chose it because his wife thinks she's a Barbie doll, and his daughters love Barbie, and it's him, his wife, and his and his girls. And he's just he loves Flash. He loves like if you ever seen their house, man. It's nuts.

SPEAKER_03

This is the guy that has the the one level that the the house that's a garage, right?

SPEAKER_02

He has he has a uh three bay garage that has lifts in it, and each lift is up holding a car up in the up in this up in the ceiling, and then a car underneath. Like he's got he's the toys this guy's got are just insane. It's just I don't know. It's it's it's wealth beyond any of us, like any of our imaginations. Like you just can't imagine. But it's the pink boat, man. I'm just like, why why pink? Anything but pink. The guy that did my uh boat motor for me, he he works on Jared's boats, and even him, like like the last one he had, he had the same exact boat in red. Now, what's interesting about this is not his first two million dollar boat. No, it's the same. But here's the interesting thing about these boats: they they take two years to build, and people are so impatient, they're willing to pay two million dollars for a used one. So he'll he bought the first one for two million, he used it for two years and sold it for two million, and then bought the next one for two million. Now, this one is going to be tricky to sell, though, because I don't know who the hell is gonna want a pink boat. Nikki McGuin, maybe if she wants it, you know. But Rob, five 500R racing motors on it, right? The gas tank's a thousand gallons, it's seven dollars a gallon to fill up the gas tank. The gas tank is a thousand, he's got a thousand gallon gas tank. It's seven bucks a gallon on the water, it's seven grand to fill that gas tank, and he burns a fuel of he burns a full tank when he goes out. Like you're talking you can't you can't fathom the amount of you need to read rare to him. Listen to me. He in the winter, the boat is in Miami, okay? He flies down to Miami like every other weekend or every weekend to use the boat, and he takes it from Miami to the Keys or Miami to the Bahamas. He's spending $25,000 to go down and use the boat, then another seven grand to fill the gas tank.

SPEAKER_03

How does the boat get from New York to Miami?

SPEAKER_02

He has somebody tow it up, which probably costs him another 50 grand. Like somebody trailers it with a wide, wide load sign on it. You gotta have two vehicles bring it, like you gotta have the trailer with the boat on it, and then the vehicle behind with the flashing lights because it is ginormous. They have to plot the thing to make sure it doesn't go over any low bridges. It's nuts, dude. You just you can't even man, God bless him. I mean, you know, he's doing well for himself, but it's just it's just and I'm not even like whatever. It's it's cool, it's just the pink, like the pink, like why pink? Why pink? Nobody wants to be seen on a pink boat, dude. Yeah, so the guy that did buy boat motor, he's just like, I don't know what's going on. We like it looks like like Anderson Cooper would own it, you know what I mean? Like it looks like something like that.

SPEAKER_03

Like it's just uh like it looks like Liberace's boat, basically. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Um yeah, that's a cigar mode's right. If you have this two million dollar boat, you're not thinking about seven grand in gas. Um he is my brother-in-law, he's my wife's sister's husband. The one who got the we have a bigger audience, so let's be careful. Like when we had a small audience, I would reveal much more, but we do have a bigger audience that I don't want to. Um, so Gideon says money is a curse. It kind of is. Not kind of, it is because when you have that kind of money, people aren't like, oh man, that's cool. I wish I had that. People look at you a certain way, you know. Like, I if I didn't learn some early lessons in envy, like I would be envious of him, and I would not just be like, I wish I had that. I'd be like, he's an asphalt. That's that's how my brain would work.

SPEAKER_03

Maybe he had it pink so that no one would be envious of it. That's true.

SPEAKER_02

Nobody nobody wants to maybe he was really looking out for everyone. But the um the the thing is when you have money on that level, like people don't people don't wish your success. They're not they're not happy for you, they're just not. They look at you like you're an asshole, they look at you like you're greedy.

SPEAKER_03

They look at they just they don't like if I like there'd be something really satisfying about watching the pink boat burn or sink or something. As long as no one got hurt, right? Like watching it explode wouldn't, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

The uh like when when I got my boat, like everyone around me was so excited for me, you know. They were like, Oh, because they knew I always wanted one. I want them on my whole life to have like a boat that I could think my family, like they were excited for me. They come out and they celebrate on it with me. But you have that kind of money, people are like, He's he's I'm I'm not even saying him particularly, I'm just saying in general, anytime you buy yourself something, people are looking at you like, you know how many people you could help with that money? You know, like you have a you have a brother who can barely afford this, and you're gonna like it's just how people look at you. Like, I like even celebrities that have a lot of money, like you wonder how much do they have to kick to their family just so that their family doesn't hate them, right? Because it just kind of comes with the territory. I mean, I see it with my own uncle. My my uncle owns the company. My uncle literally supports the lives of I can't tell you how many people, like just because he you want people around you that love you. And if you're generous, people will love you. If you're not generous, people won't love you, they'll hate you, you know. It's like I it's just the way it is.

SPEAKER_03

It's like when you when you see, like uh like uh Keanu Reeves drives a 10-year-old Toyota Tacoma, or no, is that Christian Bale? One of them drives like a 10-year-old Toyota Tacoma. It's like, is he really that humble, or is he just putting putting on air stability on like like like a humble brag?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, exactly. Uh uh who's just that uh bizcath Nick said our jet ski does 72 miles an hour and is pretty scary depending on the water that day. I've he has he has the the same jet ski you have, it does 75. You're like terrified doing but you're also way lower to the water on a jet ski. Yeah, his boat smokes the jet ski, smokes it. Like you can't keep up on that jet ski doing 75. And jet skis are known to like outblast boats, like they're just rocket ships on the water. Yeah, this boat smokes that jet ski, dude. And like the jet ski that does 75, if you hit the throttle full throttle, like it'll pull, it'll pull out from underneath you. Like you can barely hang on. You have to kind of gradually ease into that thing. Because if you just gun that jet ski, that jet ski's flying out from underneath you, man. It's like it's like a rocket ship. That that thing. Um I don't think he's putting on airs in Tacoma's a sick truck. He actually is, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

I had 60 on the side by side, and like, no, that's fast enough.

SPEAKER_02

I don't need to go fast. 60's fast on a side by side, too, man. Like, well, especially not on a road, right?

SPEAKER_03

And I'll only do it on like a straight gravel road or straight gravel.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it's got to be a real road. Like, if you're in the woods doing 60, man, that's scary, dude. In the woods doing 30, you're like, yeah. Yeah, oh man. Yeah, look, I I'm not, I'm not, I don't know. It was just like an it was a weird experience being on that boat, man. And I had to like post a video just showing the everybody's like, why are you on a pink boat? It's like I had to share this experience with you guys. You had to know what it's like to be going 100 on a gay boat. Uh all right, we are well past the 10 o'clock mark, so yeah. I'm gonna go and get some sleep. I'm gonna get us some sleep, and then uh we'll be back on Thursday. I think it was a good local show.

SPEAKER_03

Do we do we have anything planned for Thursday?

A Strange Funeral Service And Suicide Talk

SPEAKER_02

No, but which uh should we put what what are we gonna put on YouTube? What clip? Are we gonna do let's do Knowles?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, we we can't do Brie.

SPEAKER_02

We should well we mention her in the Knowles segment anyway.

SPEAKER_03

So what Rob's story? What what story of mine did you want to hear?

SPEAKER_02

Of uh going to uh the funeral, but it it's you could tell if it was tedious for him. It was it wasn't actually a Catholic funeral or anything, it was just tedious for him.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know what it was. So I I had a high school friend and like teammate from football and stuff who uh who just died recently. Um pretty sure it was suicide. Um of course no one comes out and says it, but I'm pretty sure it was suicide. But um so I'd seen the obituary I think last Thursday and decided to go down for the funeral, which was Saturday, down to the Twin Cities. So it was a four-hour drive and decided to make a week of a weekend of it with the family. Um and uh nothing in the obituary made it, you know, they it was gonna be just a funeral service at the funeral home. None of it mentioned anything about you know being in a Catholic church or Catholic priest or anything like that. So I just assumed, you know, either Protestant or like vaguely Christian funeral service at a funeral home. So I uh Maddie decided he wanted to go with me. Um and I asked him why, and he goes, uh he said to he said, uh, so that I can help you honor your your dead friend. And just really proud of him in that moment. But so we get there and uh it was just a funeral home. They have chairs set up. So we got there for the last end of the end of the visitation and then sat down for the service. And uh the you know uh a guy dressed as as a as a minister uh walked out basically in an alb with a uh collar no well stole, yeah, with a stole on, right? So looked Catholic, but could also be Lutheran or or you know, whatever, Presbyterian, Methodist, whatever. But the guy introduces himself as a retired Catholic priest, and I'm like, oh, what is about to happen here? And um so there is a there is an official Catholic funeral liturgy outside of Mass that can be said when like uh when like most of the people there aren't gonna be Catholic, or there are reasons why it could can be used. This wasn't even that, like the the the the so-called priest, he reads uh one reading, uh, and then the gospel, and then doesn't really give uh uh a homily, kind of gives a eulogy, have has people tell stories, he's talking. Um at one point in a so-called homily, he's talking about uh how love, like when like when Jesus uses the word love, it's you know, not in the like the modern sense of being um affectionate, you know, how it's how it's the Greek word agape. I'm like, oh okay, maybe this isn't gonna be as terrible as it seems. Maybe it's actually gonna be maybe he's actually about to lay some actual theology down. Like agape means to have empathy for each other. I'm like, oh no.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, Rob texted me and he's like, I just it just the state of the priesthood is just so abysmal. I said, like, it's just as bad as that was, like, man, I've heard worse. Like it is, it's just depressing, like it's just depressing.

SPEAKER_03

Like, he he um he had people come up and either use their their own tears or holy water he brought to to to bless the deceased. That's so weird. Uh yeah, he was doing a lot of weird things with the body, like the he had a printout of the gospel reading, he went and put them on the um the deceased lips, like you the deceased was kissing it, and um, so the my friend's name was Austin. He kept calling him Austin of God, like he's been canonized. It's like, dude, like you shouldn't do that ever, but especially not for a suicide.

SPEAKER_02

Like oh, it was we'll do suicide, we'll do the suicide conversation another night because man, the distortion on that teaching has led to so many people probably taking their own lives. Like, I saw a video of a girl the other day who was talking about how depressed she was and how she had no will to live, but the only reason she didn't take her life is because she doesn't want to go to hell. And I'm like that's why the church perfect. Like, that's actually why the church teaches that because people who are in in despair in the moment don't want to go to hell, and then light comes into their life later on, and they were they were spared hell because they knew the teaching that you'll go to hell if you if you take your life.

SPEAKER_03

It's like but all right, all suicides go to heaven except SSBX suicides, obviously. That's true.

SPEAKER_02

That's funny. You should tweet that. That's a funny tweet.

SPEAKER_03

Who's that? It's a little, I don't know, man.

SPEAKER_02

The suicide topic is oh my gosh, black owl, the pink boat, the pink speed boat with Father Martin.

SPEAKER_03

That would be good. Father Martin driving a pink speedboat. Do you see the the picture you put in? No. Go scroll up and look. Grace in high gear. Wow.

SPEAKER_02

I hate you guys sometimes. All right, let's wrap this up. I gotta get to sleep. Okay. See ya everyone.
